Kimura Shukokai is a form of Karate that seeks to master fighting techniques using only the human body. Modern-day Kimura Shukokai was established by Shigeru Kimura, who travelled throughout the world - including South Africa - developing his own version of Shukokai, which emphasises the release of explosive energy and challenges modern conceptions of body mechanics.

Register for a free week of training by contacting a dojo near you. Wear something comfortable and flexible, such as a gym T-shirt and tracksuit pants. Classes are open to everyone from four years old, regardless of gender or physical ability. Anyone can become an exemplary member of Samurai as long as he or she has the desire to do so.
