Renshi France Harington, owner and chief instructor of Kiryoku Dojo, has been training in karate since 2003. She has a 5th Dan in Karate and a 3rd Dan in Kobudo.

At Kiryoku Karate Dojo we teach traditional Okinawan Shorinryu Shorinkan Karate and Kobudo(weapons). The focus is on building on the strong fundamentals of karate and on teaching practical self-defence skills.

GIVING YOUR KIDS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GROW WITH CONFIDENCE

While we follow the curriculum, our karate classes give the children the opportunity to not only learn the techniques found in the kata forms but to learn the practical applications, touching on the self defence aspect of karate. Kids are encouraged to lead in many areas during class building on their leadership skills and confidence. Classes include cardio and fitness with partner drills and work with equipment, learning to punch and kick with control and focus.

Kobudo is taught from white belt with traditional weapons using simple drills and continues throughout their karate journey, this greatly improves their agility and body awareness.

Teaching that aggression is NOT part of true karate spirit.

This is a karate school catering to the whole family with childrens classes and adults only classes.

ADULTS ONLY classes : 7.30 - 8.30pm Monday & Thursday
