Forest Creek nestles in a gorge of the Steenkampsburg Mountains, which is the end of the Drakensberg Mountain range. Set in a Private Nature reserve of the Mpumalanga escarpment. The gorge is softened only by a blanket of shrubs and trees which have grown in this malaria-free zone over millennia.
It is only when one gets to the gate of Forest Creek Lodge that the rock-strewn grassland is left behind, one climbs up, and up, and enter this little enchanted world.

On this magnificent piece of land we hope we have catered for everyone, from Luxury guest suites at the main lodge* to the Forest Cottage, Bee Eater, The Beach Cottage & Sunbird self catering options. During the cooler months, come and enjoy the Big Fireplace in the Lodge Lounge. There are hiking trails along the stream under the canopy of trees. Treat yourself to an hour or two of relaxation in our Forest Spa
BIRD WATCHING - We have a prolific variety of uncommon species of Birds that can be seen, including a resident pair of Black Eagles. We have a Forest Creek bird list.
HORSE RIDING - 5kms down the hill. The cost per person is R300.00 for approximately 1-hour ride in the valley. Please book in advance.
MOUNTAIN BIKING - Bring your bikes and enjoy the off road cycling. Great views as you ride. A hard ride!
CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING - Try your hand at shooting the clays with our 12 gauge shot gun,
DUCK TARGET RANGE - This is a fun little target range, shot with an air rifle. R50.00
BUSH BATH
This is literally a bath set in a private spot in the bush, we provide the bubbles and towels, should you wish to order champagne please do so when booking your bath with nature.
FOREST SPA
Relax and be pampered in our small spa. Treatments can be booked during your stay.
GAZEBO CANDLELIT DINNER
A private very romantic dinner within the closed tented Gazebo. We only have one gazebo, so to avoid disappointment please book early.
