About us
First Step is an educational organization that has provided services to Gezina since 2006. This mid-sized childcare facility serves children from six weeks to six years of age. We use a school readiness program based on the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) for our Grade RR & Gr R classes and the Early Learning and Development Area (ELDAS) for our 0-4 years as provided by the Department of Basic Education. Part of our weekly program is a Speech- and Occupational therapist providing class therapy sessions to our children.

Our services are safe and secure, providing our parents with an excellent place where their children can be cared for. Our staff attends courses regularly to keep up to date with the latest educational methods.

First Step recognizes Abba Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

That He gave us the mandate to educate and train our children not only in the facts and information required in this present technological age but also, more importantly, our children need an impartation of Godly wisdom. By doing this, they will need to learn about Jesus Love through the Bible.

We want to teach our children to be independent, self-disciplined, self-controlled, responsible, determined and reasoning young adults. We aim to engender respect and love for each other.

Within our structures, we will strive to produce soundly educated children equipped to enjoy fruitful progress in a satisfying life in a community with the best equipment and methods available.

We have an Aftercare facility available where children can do their homework, and extra study time for exams is also provided.

    My child comes from a nearby crèche in the same area. Only at First Step with their qualified staff they saw my child was a special need child. After confirmation with the drs and specialists I am thankful that there’s people like First Steps staff. With the assistance of the Occupational and Speach therapists they have as part of the program, my child’s growth is phenomenal in just one term already. Can not wait for 2019.
