** Rising Sun JKA no longer exists and has been dissolved. The club has since been taken over and run by Michael Thompson since 2014.

Amanzimtoti JKA Karate is currently open and in full operation, following all covid protocols.

Amanzimtoti JKA Karate club provides authentic and practical karate skills since 2014. The Club is run by Sensei's Michael Thompson (4th Dan), Savannah Thompson (3rd Dan) and Desere Thompson (1st Dan). Headed by Sensei Michael with over 15 years of teaching experience. Classes are an excellent mix of mental, physical and fun-filled exercises suited to all ages; for 3 years old and all the way up to moms, dads and grandparents!

Here at Amanzimtoti JKA Karate, we are a family and we live by this philosophy and culture. So we encourage all ages to take up karate because karate has no age limit. Through discipline and respect our goal is to keep you fit whilst teaching coordination, flexibility, core strength and traditional karate self-defence.

The club offers Instructors of South African Protea and Commonwealth medalist experience. As well as a studying Health & Fitness Instructor through Trifocus Fitness Academy. The Instructors are constantly looking to achieve their student's goals.

Whether you are an adult looking for new goals, or an intermediate and beginner looking for an awesome adventure, Amanzimtoti JKA Karate can help you reach your goals.

Dojo times are:
Tuesday's and Thursday's

-- "Little Ninja's" class - 5:00pm - 5:35pm --- {3 - 6 year olds, New Beginners, White and Dinky belts.}

-- "Junior Samurai's" class - 5:40pm - 6:25pm --- {7 - 17 year olds, New Beginners, Yellow and Orange belts.}

-- Adults class - 6:30pm - 7:30pm --- {Adult New beginners, White belts Black belts}

    A safe and secure dojo in which the young students are taught in a fun filled atmosphere and the senior students are taken through the paces of traditional budo karate. Led by Sensei Michael and Senpai Des who at all times endeavour to bring out the best in their students. Oss. Domo Arigato Sensei Michael and Senpai Des.

    The karate school has thought me so much in the past few months and I already love being part of karate and I am excited to grow even more further in karate and I love training with karate members and we all are unity and the instructors helped me step by step in getting my katas and moves to perfection and I am so grateful to what the karate schools has done for me and I feel my karate club deserves a full 5 star
