Allegro Music & Recording Studio offers excellent tuition in all musical instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, piano, singing, recorder, flute, violin and trumpet. Kids and adults group drumming classes also offered. Group classes in pop/rock music theory and other subjects related to the music industry are currently being run. The group classes are 45 min long and very enlightening and fun! Allegro also does professional production and recording for performing artists and musicians at our recording studios. We have various premises in Somerset West, Strand, Gordon's Bay, Stellenbosch, Capetown, Paarl, Johannesburg, Durban and Pretoria. Our teachers are of an extremely high standard and are all professional performing and recording artists themselves. Therefore our music teachers dont only make students into musicians, but are Performers who make students into Performers!!! The Allegro philosophy is that our students should learn and be able to play and sing music in a creative and imaginative way, visualising pitches and theory in their minds whilst improvising.
We train them to emulate well known songs by ear in an easy to understand way. We then train them to merge what is learnt in music theory and sight-reading and apply it to the improvisation, so that they can be creative whilst still understanding exactly what they are doing.
They will then always be able to both sight read efficiently and play by ear/improvise at a high level, due to the mutual understanding.
